Veterans Welcome Home Celebration

May 16th 4:30 to 9:30 @ Lunken Airport Come and enjoy an evening of free food, live musical entertainment, awesome skydiving exhibitions, the latest military static displays, great children’s activities and the camaraderie of other veterans and service members. Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductee, Anthony Munoz, will be the event’s Master of Ceremonies. Register in advance to automatically be entered in a drawing for a great entertainment package that includes a 32" Sharp Aquos LCD TV, a Toshiba DVD/VCR combination, and a digital photo frame for viewing your favorite snapshots. You must attend the event to win. Last year more than 3,000 attended the inaugural Welcome Home Celebration--Veterans from 19 to 90, families, and friends enjoyed a fun filled day thanks to the generous support of community businesses and organizations such as JTM Food Group, Grippo's Potato Chips, Butternut Bread, Home City Ice, United Dairy Farmers, The Thank You Foundation, Academy Rentals, Tropicana Casino & Resorts, BAE Systems, Ohio CAT, Warbirds, the City of Cincinnati and many others that contributed significantly to the event’s success. In addition, more then 200 volunteers gave generously of their time. The Greater Cincinnati Apprenticeship Council (GCAC) is an organization of union building trade apprenticeship program directors. Our purpose is to educate the community about the value of apprenticeship and the benefits of a career in the building trade’s industry. Apprenticeship is the gateway to many career opportunities which offer virtually unlimited advancement. The domestic and international job markets encompass many projects such as construction of hydroelectric dams, high-rise buildings, schools, hospitals, commercial facilities and interstate highways. |
